The rooms
Garden and Grounds |
The Oak Room is one of two bedrooms built over the Great Hall between 1571-80 by George Lynne. It has a barrel roof and the original Elizabethan panelling. The four poster bed, still in use, was made about 1630. Carving shows typical East Midland arcading. Black & white image Crown Copyright. Colour image by Sarah Brookman Photography, Shepshed.
